Mia Hanak

Mia Hanak was born in San Francisco, but enjoys dual citizenship in the US and the Czech Republic.  She received Bachelors’ degrees in Art History and Cultural Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Masters in Museum Management for Exhibition Design from the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies at Tufts University in Massachusetts. Fueled by passion, tenacity, and an unwavering commitment to combatting climate change, for the past two decades Mia has conceptualized, curated and produced large-scale environmental art experiences internationally in partnership with the United Nations System through her organization Millennium ART.  She is also a Visual Journalist covering art, culture, and the environment, accredited through the United States Press Agency. Mia is a single mother of two creative boys who are deeply concerned about the plight of the planet and inspire her to work hard each day to make our world a better place.
