A gang of retirees lives happily in a senior community building called The Green Villa in a small, idyllic town in northern Sweden. The tenants’ everyday lives are suddenly turned upside down when their social and wellness center is threatened to be closed and used for something more profitable. One of the tenants – the former teacher Gun – refuses, however, to let politicians and greedy real estate owners destroy the community of wellness they have created over so many years.

When Gun presents her innovative but risky plan, which involves the growing of a certain plant in the basement, to her fellow tenants, everyone thinks she has gone completely crazy. How far can respectable seniors go to save their Zumba, physical therapy, and book clubs? Does the end really justify the means?

The Green Villa is a quirky, warm, and very funny novel – think A Man Called Ove meets Breaking Bad.

SOFIA RUTBÄCK ERIKSSON has been in love with writing ever since she learned her very first letters. After four children’s books, one of which has been translated into five languages, she is releasing her first adult novel with LB Förlag this summer; Som i ett vykort (Picture Perfect) is a feelgood novel about family relationships in idyllic Norrbotten, the northenmost county in Sweden.

Also this summer, the first books in Sofia’s humorous cozy crime series Katarinas eminenta detektivbyrå (Katarina’s Eminent Detective Agency) are released in Sweden by Lind & Co.

Sofia’s mission with her writing is to entertain and marvel, and she has a penchant for a certain Swedish quirkiness.
